The "Sci-Fi - Lightning Bug" Bumper Animation, though created at The Art Institute, was made for Sci-Fi Channel and was aired during commercials. My role during this project was Technical Director, Effects Artist and Compositor.
I created the smoke for the Sci-Fi logo with Maya fluids. The cloud effects in the background were created with After Effects. No images were used for that effect, but fractal noise only. The Lightning Bugs and sparks are 3D Studio Max Particle Systems.
